I knew I wanted to wear this skirt this week after I saw Kendi wear the blue and red version (that I also have - yes, we have established that I have a problem buying multiples of the same item in different colours). It had been waiting in the wings - aka the bottom of my closet - for several weeks. I always have such a hard time wearing black and white and feeling casual. I don't know why, but I always feel formal in it. But this skirt is so playful, it's why I got it in the first place! That said, I do feel like I took the easy way out with this outfit. I mean, it's fairly plain, but it was super fun to wear!
You may notice that my tights match my necklace... pretty cool, right? I was about to throw on a set of opera length pearls when I spotted it in my jewelry box. It is a simple set of purply-pink wooden beads that I was given for Christmas in 1987 by my uncle Bill. That's right, 1987 - I was 5. I think this is the first time that I have worn them since I hit the decade mark, but for some reason (because I love my family and cherish gifts from them) I have held on to them all this time. It was such an easy necklace to wear - very light, and playful - that I have a feeling I will probably break it out some more in the future! I'm such a kid at heart!
