waiting for snow

waiting for snow

I considered titling this post 'walking on sunshine' because of my great yellow tights, but I decided that I didn't want to use such a great title on such a gray day. We waited all day yesterday for some snow that was supposed to be 1-3 inches and start between 1pm and 3pm, then not till 7pm and barely an inch. Well, it turns out we got about an inch and 1/2 and it started around 6pm. Working in parks and rec, we wait for snow and then figure out what we need to do about it. See, we (and I mean the "royal we," I sit at a desk and organize things) have to clear our pathways, shovel our walkways to the community buildings, and make sure all is right in Reston. So naturally, when there is an unknown amount of snow coming, people tend to be on high alert. Especially since we were hit with 2 major snow storms last year!

This outfit is kind of a variation of the one that I wore on the day before Christmas Eve. Again, we have gone over the issue that I have with buying the same thing in multiple colours. I wore my blue scarf with my crazy yellow tights because over the summer I wore it with a yellow purse and really liked the look... it didn't dawn on me until I was at the office that I could have gone more of a matching route if I had worn my yellow scarf. I guess that would have been the obvious choice, but it seems the more I document and blog my outfits, the less obviously I dress! Either way, I think I love this outfit!
