spring showers

spring storms

Silly me, wearing my rain boots the day before massive amounts of rain came down on the DC metro area! Good thing I only had to be outside for these pictures and the short walks from my car to my office and back. I made my roommate stand in the doorway to take these shots, so that my camera wasn't out in the rain. Another silly me, because I own a waterproof camera!

I'm rocking my new favorite combo - bright blues and orangey-red! (DC would be so proud of me!) It also seems that I have been gravitating towards slightly younger hair styles - those fit for 5 year olds - recently. Oh well, when it rains, my hair is best left braided. :) This is also the 5th day in a row that I have worn pants. I'm not sure if I should have a problem with that or not. I do think that skirts and dresses have a tendency to look a little more styled on me, but that could be the amount of effort that goes into planning the outfit. What's your take on the situation - pants, skirts, or dresses?

  1. I love the braids, but I'm not loving all this rain. I'm looking forward to a sunny weekend

  2. I agree - skirts seem to look more styled almost every time. But maybe that is because I didn't wear them for years and then rediscovered them ;-) Strangely, I think skirts are a lot more practical in situations where (I think) most other people would prefer pants... Like, both when it's raining or when I travel, I prefer skirts with boots. Both for the same reason: I don't like the hems of my pants to get wet or drag through disgusting stuff - like when it's raining or one has to use public restrooms somewhere on the highway. But I think that's just me being a little cuckoo ;-)

By the way, thanks a lot for adding me to your autism awareness site! I was already thinking hard about what else I can within my group, but as I am a psychologist among other psychologists and special pedagogues, everyone kind of knows everything :-D But I hope to stir up some discussion on the web. I think your dedication for this topic is amazing!
