so it might be a tie

DSC_0008

I know I have been talking a lot about which skirt is my favorite (zebra or gap) but now that I have this Megan Nielsen (shop, blog) skirt, I'm going to have to say it's a three way tie. I have gotten no less than seven compliments on it! I was a little worried when it arrived (and I still had a little vacation "softness" to me) that it was too small, but after zipping it up this morning, I think it fits just wonderfully! The high waist and bold stripes are flattering, and the cotton is super soft and airy.

I was super happy to pick up this skirt from Megan's sample sale. I always love her pieces when I see them, and just adore following her design diary! It was a pleasant surprise to find that everything in the sample sale was super affordable too! I only wish there were more pieces in my size! (there is this dress... and I am so tempted, but I have such awful luck with dresses since I'm 5'8 - the waists all fit at my ribs!) I guess I'll have to wait for her spring/summer collection to come out!

As wonderful as it is to have three favorite store bought skirts, it's even better than they have inspired my mom to continue pursuing sewing. She is studying my favorite pieces and is going to work to replicate them for me! I am also working with her to create some one of a kind pieces from some sketches that I have been working on. Megan and Jessica have both been my inspiration to start altering, sewing, and designing - so that I can finally have dresses that fit me!
