lamb and mint sauce

DSC_0282

On my last full day in England we went to my Auntie Laura's house. She is a fantastic cook and we had lamb (which I am not a fan of usually, but hers was AMAZING) with tons of veg, gravy and mint sauce! As I understand it, in the states people put mint jelly on lamb, so when I heard mint sauce, I thought it might be sweet (no thank you). But it was explained to me that is was vinegar and mint, two things I love. Naturally, I think mint sauce is a new favorite condiment! I could even imagine having just a bit with mashed potatoes and gravy.

Though the food was certainly amazing, the high light of the day was that my 5 year old nephew got to ride the pony, Lollipop! The same pony that I rode for the first time. Lollipop was so wonderful to Rowan, and Rowan had an amazing time on the 31 year old pony. Who knew ponies lived to be 31!? My one concern about being at my aunt's? She had sheep in one of the fields... I had to ask and make sure that we didn't eat one of their brothers for lunch. I was assured, our lamb came from the market. :)
