On Labor Day, Reid and I took our borrowed paddle boards on Lake Thoreau for the second time this weekend and this time we risked bringing my phone along in a Lifeproof Case
and my iFitness
belt. I can't tell you how much I love being on the lake. My little brain has been trying to figure out how to squeak out an extra $1000 out of my budget to get my own paddle board!
I had called my parents earlier in the day to see if they wanted to join us, but they said they were busy, so I was shocked when we heard them heckling us from the doc across the lake from where we launched. I paddled over and gave my dad a turn on my board. He was a natural! I think he really enjoyed it, but my mom was too scared to try. Hopefully if I get a board (or two!) she'll give it a go. I think she just needs more coaxing!
Anyway, it was a great start to a great day, and a great day to officially end the summer on (though we'll still have summer temps through October).

When and Where:
- Monday, September 2nd, 2013
- Lake Thoreau, Reston
- bikini - Victoria's Secret
- sunnies - RayBan

Later in the day, Josh and Amanda joined us without their spouses (Jenny had to work and Adam had class - sadface!)for a BBQ, some cider, and a walk around the Lake. It was nice to see friends in such a casual setting, though I wish they could have all joined us for the lake! Hopefully those warm-through-October temps will lead to one or two more lake days before the end of the year!
