I felt like a rebel when I was wearing this yesterday! My skirt was really short, I was layered to high heaven, and most importantly, I wore navy blue and black together! I broke a fashion rule and loved it.
I know that they say that navy is a neutral colour and that you can treat it as such, but I am just so used to not mixing navy and black that I have avoided doing it in the past. Now that I have jumped on "rule breaking" bandwagon, I'm not sure I can stop! Navy and black together was just the gateway - I'm thinking stripes and plaid together next!
I don't know why, but I love this outfit. I have worn it at least 3 other times, with and with out the layers. It was inspired by this photo of Kristin Cavallari shopping in LA. (yes, also why I got my raybans!) I am not sure I can elaborate on why I was inspired by this outfit, I just liked it and I think I pull it off well, in my own way.
