Is mixing stripes and plaid really a faux pas? I mean, I remember watching some show as a kid (I think it was 'Salute Your Shorts' on Nickelodeon, but it may have been something else entirely) where they were chanting "stripes and plaid look really bad." But I guess I don't really agree. In fact, I often wear this plaid scarf with a striped shirt. (I really have a lot of striped shirts...)
Anyway, I liked this outfit for one reason - it was really warm. Nothing like the finest acrylic money can buy to keep you warm! Also, these are the jeans I paired with the top from 'the outfit that never was' if you need the visual.

This a great two-fer post. Stripes and rule breaking! Woohoo. Your rule breaking doesn't stand out as a bad thing. This outfit looks so casual and cute.

thanks so much for the comments! I love stripes and can't wait for the next Everybody:Everywear challenge!!
ReplyDeletei like how you mixed them--they're in the same color palette but are on different scales, so for me it totally works! and also...i'm really digging the slight tuck-in of your sweater in front. cute.
