When my roommate saw me from the top of the stairs, she said "you look like Annie Hall, well, if you were wearing pants and a tie too". I actually have never seen the movie (gasp!), but have heard it mentioned in pop culture so many times. I'm just mad that it's not available to watch instantly on Netflix! It's definitely on my "need to watch" list.
I really love the juxtaposition of this outfit. The menswear feel of the top, with the feminine skirt, tights, and shoes on the bottom. I think it works really well! A couple of the guys I worked with described me as looking "very business like". Obviously they haven't worked in a real business professional environment, because it's way to casual with the chambray top, but I took that as a compliment. I also love this skirt and these tights, both together and apart. I am just having trouble not looking like a grape from head to toe whenever I try to style this skirt. That said, I'm really looking forward to wearing it with bare legs this spring and summer!
What are you most excited about wearing as the seasons change? Do you have any great skirts and dresses that help you make the transition?

Liz - big fan of this outfit! It's also great that the lining of your blazer gives that hint of purple that helps tie the look together. And it's present in your pearls, too.... Great color combo - very nice!

Oh I really like this outfit! The blazer/chambray combo is genius and the skirt is a nice spring transition piece.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try the colorblocking trend for spring, and just bright colors in general!
You have persuaded me to get myself a denim shirt - it gives the outfit a lovely casual look.
