Here it is! My first post where I am actually applying some of my photography skills behind the camera to what you see in front of the camera. I know its a subtle difference, but don't these shots look good!? I am so pleased with them! My hope is to compile a 'how to take your outfit shots' tutorial, sharing my trial and error (if your a photo nerd, my EXIF data is on Flickr), and providing tutorials for certain aesthetics. I'm hoping Jenny will help me learn and teach some quick editing techniques - as you can see, I was only barely able to conceal the pimple on the bridge of my nose ;).
With spring finally starting to show it's face in the NoVA area, I have started to pull out some of my spring and summer staples, like this dress. I picked it up at Loehmann's just before Memorial Day weekend in 2006 (I remember because I have photos from the first time I wore it). It's one of my favorite dresses, but the top is ill fitting, so I usually wear it with a tank under it, even though I like the way it looks without the tank better - if only it would stay put! It worked really well under this sweater and belted (a new style for me).
It must be the spring air, but I even started thinking of all the ways that I can breathe new life into all of my old favorites. I even tried this dress backwards and I think it'll work with minimal altering!
When and Where:
- Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

ReplyDeleteAlso, your hair is awesome. You should give it to me! :)
Oh yes I can definitely see a difference! These photos are stunning, although your photos were already gorgeous. I looove this dress, and layering a dress under a belted sweater is the best way to hide ill-fits or make a dress office appropriate.
ReplyDeleteOh and I agree with Tierney, your hair is fabulous.
yes, these photos are looking good, and yes i will go to flickr and check out your exif, hehe.
ReplyDeletelove the skirt, so fun and stripey!

Nice photos! The higher focal length looks great.
