convertible hair

So my grannie is in town (the one that I visited in England). That would be cool all on it's own, but my dad's car is also in the shop so my parents needed to borrow my car, which means... I got to drive my mom's Mercedes SLK convertible!!! I actually had it from Thursday (the day of this outfit) though Memorial Day! It was a blast tooling around with Jenny on our "staycation." (more to come on the "staycation" later)

The one bad thing about a convertible is that you have to control your hair. You can't just wear it down in long wavy layers, Bridget Jones taught me that lesson! I find that a bun, braided headband, and just a low pony are the best way to go!

I also think that these pants may be my favorites for the summer! I only wish I had picked them up in another colour! I totally love Kendi's pair in salmon pink (and here, here, here, and here )! Maybe gap has some on the sale rack... Though I really should save my pennies for a little longer... I am completely torn between wanting to actually have a nice summer wardrobe and wanting to save my money. I literally have spent every other summer of my life in soffe shorts, tee shirts, and bathing suits. I have a couple of summery dresses, but they are at least as old as my nephew, and my shorts are all even older than that! Anyone have any ideas on how I can update my summer wardrobe on the cheap in the DC area?
