Running in 2014

I can't believe that tonight I will run my last race of 2014! The Fairfax Four Miler has been how I have chosen to end my year for the last four years. It's a tradition that I plan to keep up with for as long as I can! Last night, Chelsea texted me to make sure that I was running and to ask if she could run with me again. Of course I said that she could! She said she "hasn't been training" but with Hell Week for swimming, she'll be plenty able! (And I'll be the one trying to keep up with her!)

I keep going back and updating this post about my running plan for 2014, but then I realized that it really needed to be in a page and not suck back in a random new years resolution post from January!

I will be updating this with new races that I add as the year goes on (though, I'm not sure I can add anymore!) and linking the race report posts as well.

So here we go, races planned for 2014!

Here's what I have planned so far:

I had planned to run a ridiculous 26 races in 2014, and ended up running only 18 (as of tonight). I did hit my goal of running one race a month, so I am VERY please with that!! (Thanks to PRR adding a 5k next door on Thanksgiving!) I also ended up running over 650 miles this year, missing only 4 week (one before and one after the marathon). That is HUGE as far as consistency goes!

I also PRed in the 10k (during a race), the 10 miler, 1/2 marathon, and Marathon this year. Which is really crazy to think because I did the majority of my running slower than I ever have before. I'm so excited to close the book on 2014 and open up the 2015 race calendar. I plan to bring in my consistency and add in a little more targeted training.
